government (federal/national, state/province county, city, military, ports, airports,
dignitary protection/liaison units in law enforcement agencies, foreign service officers,
diplomats or consular officials), universities/colleges (public or private), corporations,
museums/cultural institutions, hospitality, healthcare, associations, international trade or
diplomatic organizations (e.g., United Nations) and independent consultants who
provide training and advice in the area of protocol and diplomacy.


Who can be a member?

Membership pricing as of January 1, 2021 is:

Individual Member - Annual: $250

Individual Member - Three Year: $700 ($50 savings)

Young Professional - Annual (must be age 25 or under to qualify): $100

Retiree - Annual: $200 (persons are eligible for a retiree membership if they are fully retired from all employment, including self-employment and part-time consulting in the protocol profession)

Memberships are renewable annually, with the exception of the Individual - Three Year membership which is renewable every three years. 

Application Process

PDI-POA requires that all candidates for membership fill out a New Membership Application Form and to affirm their intent to abide by the Member Code of Ethics.  Please note - when completing the form, you will be required to either upload your resume or provide your LinkedIn profile URL for review. If, after reviewing your materials the Membership Committee determines that you are not eligible for membership, you will be notified by email.
