Who are the members of PDI-POA?

PDI-POA is a vibrant, growing, and engaged community of protocol professionals from across a wide range of industries: federal, state, and local governments; military; diplomatic; academia; corporate; non-profit; civic institutions; consultants and trainers; and more. While PDI-POA members are primarily located in North America, the more than 400 members reside in and represent over 30 countries on five continents. 

A Local & Worldwide Reach

The members of PDI-POA are predominately from North America, but the Association's reach is world-wide.  

  • 74% are from the United States. 
  • 9% are from Canada.  
  • 17% come from: Cayman Islands, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Lebanon, Macedonia, Mali, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.

Members are Decision Makers

Members of PDI-POA are decision makers who purchase gifts, goods, and services. Some work in an office of one. Others are part of a protocol team influencing every decision made at their events, visits and ceremonies. 

The most frequently occurring job title is Protocol Officer, Protocol Manager, or Protocol Specialist.  These three titles and their variations cover about 13% of our members.  

Other frequently held job titles among our members include: Chief of Protocol, Deputy Chief of Protocol, Chief of Staff, Director of Events, Director of Ceremonies, Director of International Relations, Event Coordinator, Executive Director of Protocol & Events, Head of Protocol & VIP Management, Manager of Protocol and Events, Manager of Protocol and Customer Relations, Professor (and its variations), Social Secretary to the Ambassador, Special Events Coordinator, Vice President Events, and Visits Officer.
