Sustainable Protocol & Diplomacy: cultivating our commitments to the land, ourselves and each otherProtocole et diplomatie durables : cultivons nos engagements envers la terre, nous-mêmes et les autresMontreal, QC, noted as one of the most sustainable cities in the world, lends itself naturally to hosting PDI-POA’s annual forum under the theme, “Sustainable Protocol & Diplomacy: cultivating our commitments to the land, ourselves and each other”. As guests on the unceded territory of the Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) Nation, Forum attendees will have an opportunity to reflect on the importance of our relationship with First Peoples, the land, ourselves and each other. With an educational program designed around foundational and professional development, content for newcomers to the field and seasoned practitioners, sessions will highlight the evolving nature of our work, the diversity of our relationships, and support colleagues in developing professional and personal skills.
AgendaUnder this year’s Forum theme, “Sustainable Protocol & Diplomacy: cultivating our commitments to the land, ourselves and each other", attendees will have the opportunity to explore topics and sessions on protocol and diplomacy foundations, sustainable (and sustaining!) protocol and diplomacy, leadership development and wellbeing and connection. Highlights will include breakouts on orders of precedence and styles of address, protocols that support science and technology, developing soft and transferable skills to use across our profession and beyond and more! Learn more about the confirmed programming here. Educational programming continues to be added to the agenda and is subject to change. A brief outline of the schedule can be found below.
