Earning Continuing Education Credits in PDI-POA Educational Programs

PDI-POA is excited to now offer continuing education (CE) credits to those who attend our educational programs. This includes the International Protocol Education Forum each summer, as well as regular virtual educational webinars and programs. We have joined the Events Industry Council (EIC) Preferred Provider Program, making it possible for members and non-member attendees to earn credit toward new and continuing certifications by registering for and attending our educational programs.
Determination of continuing education credit eligibility or Preferred Provider status does not imply EIC’s endorsement or assessment of education quality.
Directions on how to report and earn CE credits for PDI-POA educational programs

How can I earn continuing education credits by participating in PDI-POA events?

Beginning in 2022, PDI-POA is partnering with Events Industry Council (EIC) to make it possible for our members and event attendees to earn continuing education credits for their attendance at PDI-POA events.

PDI-POA will submit our educational programs for approval with EIC. For approved events, you will have the option to request CE credit when you submit your event registration form to PDI-POA. Just check the box to opt in for CE credit! PDI-POA will then share with EIC a list of all registrants who have requested credit for that event.

Within 14 days after the event date, attendees must log in to the EIC portal to certify their attendance at the event in order to receive credit. This is the responsibility of the individual attendee. Directions on how to access the EIC portal are provided below.

Is CE credit only available for in-person events, or can I earn credits for virtual education events as well?

CE credit will be available for approved virtual and in-person events. Attendees can earn up to 1 credit for each 50 minutes of educational program delivery. Attendees will be responsible for certifying their attendance to EIC; PDI-POA will only share with EIC the names and email addresses of those opt in during the registration process.

Will PDI-POA process and verify my attendance for credit?

PDI-POA will share a list of those individuals who have opted in for CE credit during the registration process. Only the names and email addresses of these individuals will be supplied to EIC. PDI-POA cannot verify attendance on behalf of the participants; each individual attendee who wishes to receive credit must log in to the EIC portal to certify that they have attended the educational program for which they registered.

Will PDI-POA share my personal information with anyone outside the organization?

PDI-POA will not share information about attendees or members unless they have opted in to the program to request credit during the educational program registration process. Only the names and email addresses of those who have requested CE credit will be shared with EIC.

PDI-POA will not share information about our attendees or meeting participants with other organizations. Information will only be shared in order to facilitate CE credit through the EIC Preferred Providers Program.

Please see the PDI-POA privacy and data disclosure for more information.

Can I get CE credit for any other programs as a PDI-POA member?

Because PDI-POA has joined the EIC Preferred Provider Program, you will have access to other educational programs offered by Preferred Providers. If you have registered with EIC to request CE credit, you will receive information about other Preferred Provider educational opportunities. These may be offered to you at low or no cost through our partnership.

What if I do not want to receive continuing education credits any longer?

Individuals opt in for continuing education credits for PDI-POA events on an event-by-event basis by selecting the option to request CE credit for each educational program. There is nothing you need to request of PDI-POA if you choose not to participate or request credit in the future.

Please contact EIC with any questions about how to remove yourself from their continuing education credit program or portal.

What do I do if my credits are not issued?

Please note that individual attendees are responsible for certifying their attendance with EIC within 14 days of the event date in order to receive credit. PDI-POA is unable to do this on behalf of registrants.

Please contact EIC with any questions about missing credits.

How to earn continuing education credits at PDI-POA educational activities

Please follow the below directions to access the Events Industry Council portal to verify attendance and receive credit:

To access your Events Industry Council portal record, go to www.eventscouncil.org and click the blue “Login” button at the top right side of the page. This will take you to the Portal login page. Please DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Your username is the email address Events Industry Council has on file. The first time you visit your portal, you’ll need to reset your password by clicking the “Forgot your password” button on the page. Instructions for changing your password will be sent to you via email.

Your attendance is uploaded into your account by the host of the event. PDI-POA will upload your attendance and it will be visible in your account within two weeks after the event has concluded. If the email you registered with does not match the primary email in your CMP account, your attendance will not be uploaded. You can still get credit for attending but you will need to self-report your attendance and upload both a session description and registration confirmation.
